A report released Tuesday by In the Public Interest, the Public Accountability Initiative, and the Center for Popular Democracy detailed how Wall Street continues to finance private prisons that violate human rights.
New data reveals how Wall Street banks provided more than $2.6 billion in financing to the private prison industry. UNews spoke to Ana María Archila, co-executive director of the Center for Popular Democracy, one of the three organizations responsible for the report.
