Fed Up Campaign Questions Federal Reserve Rate Hike

Fed Up Campaign Co-Director Ady Barkan issues statement

06.14.17

NEW YORK – In reaction to the Federal Reserve's rate hike Wednesday, the Fed Up Campaign Co-Director Ady Barkan released the following statement:

"Inflation remains below two percent and consumer inflation expectations are at a four-year low. What possible rationale exists for the Fed to intentionally slow down the economy now? Why not test the bounds of genuine full employment and allow millions more people to rejoin the labor force and find good paying jobs?"
