Local renter protections passed by Ithaca City Council: (Seph Murtaugh, Duc Nguyen, George McGonigle, Laura Lewis, and Cynthia Brock) “The new tenant’s rights resolutions establish that the landlord is now responsible for any and all coding faults with buildings and rental units instead of the tenants. Some of the new resolutions state that landlords who have more than the legal limit of people living in a unit will receive a penalty for each additional occupant over the limit.”
