Other lawmakers picked similarly pointed guests. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is attending with Maria Archila, the activist who confronted Sen. Jeff Flake in the elevator during the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings.

Archila is co-executive director of the Center for Popular Democracy. The New York-based nonprofit group shared a video of Ocasio-Cortez presenting Archila with a pin that says, "Well-behaved women rarely make history."

“I never thought I’d be excited about being in the same room with Donald Trump," said Archila, who is the co-executive director of the left-leaning Center for Popular Democracy.

The hint referred to Ocasio-Cortez’s congressional district.
