Good Jobs Now

Good Jobs Now is a grassroots membership based organization that fights for economic and social justice for low-income workers and Detroiters. We are building a powerful movement that will transform the city through issue and electoral organizing, legislative advocacy, and grassroots mobilization. Our mission is to increase access to living wage jobs; build long-term power in our neighborhoods and hold elected officials accountable; and to identify, engage and empower grassroots leaders to create sustainable change in their communities. Join us in the fight for economic justice for all Detroiters now!

Good Jobs Now believes in:

  • One Detroit for all -  We're fighting to stop foreclosure, end homelessness, and make sure Detroit neighborhoods are strong, safe and viable.
  • Economic Justice -  We are fighting for equitable policies to end poverty and ensure that those who currently are impoverished are not punished or exploited because of their economic status.
  • Fair chances for all -  Poor people, especially people of color, face a far greater risk of being fined, arrested, and even incarcerated for minor offenses than other Americans. Detroit cannot fully come back without providing opportunity for all its residents.
  • Supporting youth and investing in public education -  Uplifting the youth and young adults starts with investing in strong public schools and dismantling the barriers that prevent young people from establishing a firm foothold in the community.
  • Democratic participation - Identifying, training and supporting progressive candidates of color to run for elected office and holding elected officials accountable for decisions that impact our community is vital for achieving progress on issues that affect Detroiters of color. Every vote matters, and we are mobilizing our communities in order to reach significant electoral victories.
