LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — On Tuesday, activists united for a press conference and caravan from Make the Road Nevada's office around their community to protest the Senate's failure to provide relief during one of the biggest eviction crises the country has faced.
Although Gov. Steve Sisolak has extended the eviction moratorium for 45 days, many know this only postpones the inevitable.
Make the Road Nevada members joined thousands across the nation to demand the Senate entirely cancels - not postpones - rent, reinstates the $600 unemployment insurance, includes all workers in any relief or stimulus, provides free testing and helps small businesses with grants - not loans.

The Las Vegas protest was organized by Make the Road Nevada as part of a national uprising organized by The Center for Popular Democracy, CPD Action and Unemployed Action, a movement of 15,00 workers who lost their jobs due to COVID-19.
