About the Position:

CPD/A is seeking a self-starting and energetic Technology Manager to improve our overall technology infrastructure, administer key technology systems, train users, improve how users experience technology systems, manage our relationship with our outsourced IT provider, and work with our operations team to keep the day to day technology of our organization running smoothly. 

This role requires strong interpersonal, project management, and time management skills. The ideal candidate has past experience in Salesforce (highly preferred), EveryAction, Hustle, Zoom, Box, and Google Shared Drives, but training in some of these tools can be provided for the right person. This is a front-line position in a fast-changing organization, and the Technology Manager will need to be flexible, quick to adapt to change, and able to manage competing tasks.

The Technology Manager will report to the Director of Systems and Administration and will work closely with members of our newly formed technology and operations team and our outsourced IT provider. This is not a help desk position, but some direct support for staff tech needs (15% or less of your time) is required. 

Primary Responsibilities

The Technology Manager will:

  • In partnership with the Director of Systems and Administration, help manage CPD/A overall technology, systems, IT infrastructure, and hardware fleet.

  • Administer key systems for constituent relationship management, document management, video conferencing, and organizing. 

  • Train staff on various technologies and the technology components of broader organizational initiatives

  • Serve as day to day point of contact for offsite IT vendor, which may include hands on work in our office

  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in how we use technology

  • Provide direct support to staff when needed and ensure Operations staff are equipped to handle basic tech needs in our Brooklyn and DC offices.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate has at least five years of broad technology experience in a nonprofit setting. Relevant experience here includes systems administration, project management, working with fundraising systems and organizing tools, training people on technology and helping drive adoption, or helping align technology with business process. Please address your relevant experience in your cover letter. This position will work with staff across our organization and may help them choose technology solutions that support their work, so past experience in either fundraising, organizing, or programs is preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:

  • A deep commitment to CPD/A’s mission, politics, and theory of change

  • Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across a geographically diverse staff

  • A positive attitude when ushering staff through technical challenges

  • The ability to translate technical jargon to general audiences

  • Experience in Salesforce is highly preferred

The salary range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
