Executive Assistant - Organize Florida

Organize Florida is a progressive, community-based organization engaged in and committed to building power to effect change in times of injustice, maintain and protect our existing rights in the state of Florida whenever and wherever injustices are being committed or civil rights are being infringed upon.

The Organize Florida Education Fund is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that both trains and develops leaders and organizes families in low-to moderate-income communities in Florida. Our vision is for these communities to become critically engaged in the political system in order to create a more just and equitable society.


Organize Florida seeks a highly motivated, talented, and dynamic individual to serve as an Executive Assistant in Orlando. This position will be primarily responsible for supporting the Executive Director & Co-Founder of the organization in their day-to-day functioning.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supports Executive Director by reading, researching, and routing emails and other correspondence; drafting letters and documents; collecting and analyzing information; initiating telecommunications.

  • Maintains Executive Director's schedule by planning and scheduling meetings, conferences, teleconferences, and travel.

  • Works closely with the Operations Director to ensure the Executive Director is adequately prepared for meetings, calls, and all travel.

  • Completes projects assigned by the Executive Director; following up on results.

  • Ensures clear communication between the Executive and Finance & Administration Departments.

  • Other projects, as needed by the Executive Director.

Key Qualifications

  • Commitment and passion for social, racial and gender justice;

  • Understanding of issues facing low income and minority communities;

  • 1-2 years of experience in an executive assistant role;

  • Self-motivated – proven ability to work independently

  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
