Digital Organizer - Make the Road Nevada

About the Organization:

Make the Road Nevada builds power in Latinx communities to win dignity and justice. We are a membership organization and are guided by and accountable to our members – residents of East Las Vegas and North Las Vegas who spend their time and resources advancing our campaigns and are often directly affected by the issues we address. We are the sister organization of Make the Road New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and New Jersey, and utilize a similar organizing model, building committees around issues like immigrant justice and economic justice, police accountability, and language access, working with residents to advance our campaigns. Formed in late 2017, we have had a substantial impact after only a short time, working closely a campaign to introduce and pass policies that protect Trans and Gender-Diverse students in the Clark County School District, trained and developed dozens of immigrant leaders to speak out against ICE and Metro officials to advocate against the County’s 287(g) agreement at County and Metro community meetings, and leading a public pressure campaign targeting the Sheriff’s office to urge his office to approve the U-Visa applications of the undocumented survivors of the Route 91 Harvest Festival who now make up the majority of our workers committee.
