CPD Network Applauds House Passing of H.R.3 Elijah E. Cummings Lower Drug Costs Now Act

WASHINGTON, DC -- On Thursday, December 12 House Democrats passed H.R.3, the Elijah E. Cummings Lower Drug Costs Now Act in a vote of 230-192. The Center for Popular Democracy released the following statement:

“We applaud the House Democrats for standing with communities and families across the country who deserve access to affordable, high-quality prescription medications. The improvements added by the Congressional Progressive Caucus before the final vote -- which prevent pharmaceutical price-gouging and doubles the minimum number of negotiated drugs in year two and beyond -- were critical to strengthening the bill. Because the bill still leaves behind the uninsured and undocumented, we stand committed to the continued fight for lower drug prices until everyone is covered.”
