Organize Florida is a progressive, community-based organization engaged in and committed to building power to effect change in times of injustice, maintain and protect our existing rights in the state of Florida whenever and wherever injustices are being committed or civil rights are being infringed upon.

The Organize Florida Education Fund is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that both trains and develops leaders and organizes families in low-to moderate-income communities in Florida. Our vision is for these communities to become critically engaged in the political system in order to create a more just and equitable society.

Opportunity

Organize Florida and Organize Florida Education Fund seek a highly motivated, talented, and dynamic individual to serve as the Sr. Leadership Development Manager. The Sr. Leadership Development Manager is responsible for developing leadership programs for community members, organizational members and staff. They will oversee ongoing leadership development opportunities and programs including, Leadership Academy.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage Leadership Academy development from beginning to end to ensure consistent implementation in all offices.

  • Manage day-to-day operations of all leadership development programs, including administration and logistics.

  • Work with the Program Design & Data Director to develop strategic program plans, progress reports, proposals, required documentation, and presentations on current and potential programs.

  • Build, develop, and grow any relationships vital to the success of our programs to ensure long term program sustainability.

  • Ensure that OFEF and OF are represented effectively at community events.

  • Work closely with members, volunteers, and staff to design and implement innovative leadership development programs to meet community needs.

  • Conduct assessments and create recommendation reports to identify successful and unsuccessful program outcomes.

  • Develop best practices and tools for the execution and management of current and potential programs.

  • Develop and manage a staff leadership development program.

  • Create engagement strategies in collaboration with the Organizing department for members to ensure consistent attendance and retention rates at leadership development programs and trainings.

  • Identify potential leaders and cultivate individual leadership plans.

  • Collaborate closely with organizing staff to ensure organizer and member leaders' needs are met.

Key Qualifications:

  • At least 1 - 3 years experience in leadership development activities and programming.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to determine informational needs, to collect and analyze information, and to devise and develop statistical analyses and reports.

  • Knowledge of current leadership development trends in the area of social justice.

  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.

  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.

  • Ability to provide advice and information to staff in area of expertise.

  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.

  • Ability to travel for key opportunities, trainings and meetings (potentially up to 30%)

  • A flexible schedule that may include two or three weekends a month.

  • Ability to establish and maintain strong interpersonal relationships.

  • Ability to develop deep connections with new and existing member leaders.
