Organize Florida is a progressive, community-based organization engaged in and committed to building power to effect change in times of injustice, maintain and protect our existing rights in the state of Florida whenever and wherever injustices are being committed or civil rights are being infringed upon.

The Organize Florida Education Fund is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that both trains and develops leaders and organizes families in low-to moderate-income communities in Florida. Our vision is for these communities to become critically engaged in the political system in order to create a more just and equitable society.

Opportunity

Organize Florida seeks a highly motivated, talented, and dynamic individual to serve as the Receptionist & Membership Coordinator. This position will be responsible for day to day office hospitality along with coordinating membership outreach, growth and retainment efforts. Additionally, they engage and recruit members and help develop a welcoming environment for all guests who enter the Organize Florida Headquarter offices.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide a friendly face to the organization as the first point of contact

  • Answer phones and greet visitors

  • Strategize membership turnout for events, which could include follow-up calls to members along with more targeted long term member engagement plans

  • Provide support for efforts to grow membership program significantly

  • Develop creative strategies to recruit new members

  • Ensure members are up to date on dues

  • Follow up with members who have lapsed

Key Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Demonstrated experience working with membership based organizations

  • Self-motivated - proven ability to work independently

  • Ability to be a team player and work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment

  • Commitment and passion for social justice and the Organize Florida mission

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Dedication and ability to work flexible hours

  • Bi-lingual preferred, however, not required
