Director of Partner Resource Development

The Center for Popular Democracy (CPD, c3) and CPD Action (c4) are a national network of close to fifty community-based organizations in 35 states that build organizing power to transform the local, state and national policy landscape through deep, long-term partnerships with leading community organizing groups and progressive labor unions nationwide.

About the Position

We seek an energetic and experienced Director of Partner Resource Development to:

  • Develop a curriculum and deliver network-wide trainings on:  development planning, diversifying funding, prospect research, major donor relations, special events planning, grant writing and grant management

  • Engage deeply with an initial Development cohort of network staff from 8-15 partner organizations

  • Provide 1:1 assistance to a specific set of partners

A strong candidate will have:

  • Significant experience as a Development Director with a proven track record growing an organization’s funding base with both institutional and individual donors 

  • Deep alignment with CPD’s theory of change, which focuses on building strong people’s institutions

  • Experience working with membership-based and 501 (c)4 organizations

Primary Responsibilities

  • The Director of Partner Resource Development primary responsibilities will include:

  • Creating a development training curriculum

  • Building out a development training program that deeply engages our partners (Development Cohort, Development Boot Camps, etc.)

  • 1:1 development support to specific partner

Job Requirements

  • A demonstrated commitment to social and racial justice issues and understanding of challenges facing immigrant communities, communities of color, and low-and moderate income people

  • At least 5 years’ experience as a Development Director

  • A track record of helping other people succeed in their roles

  • Success as independent, self-motivated, and strong leader that is able to drive project and programs to completion in fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work with diverse organizations and partners

  • Experience working in diverse communities

  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • Results-focused and organized

  • Willingness to travel occasionally

Generous salary and benefits package, depending on experience. This position is .6 FTE (30 hours a week) and fully benefit eligible.
