Background

Organize Florida is a progressive, community-based organization engaged in and committed to building power to effect change in times of injustice, maintain and protect our existing rights in the state of Florida whenever and wherever injustices are being committed or civil rights are being infringed upon.

The Organize Florida Education Fund is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that both trains and develops leaders and organizes families in low-to moderate-income communities in Florida. Our vision is for these communities to become critically engaged in the political system in order to create a more just and equitable society.

Opportunity

Organize Florida seeks a highly motivated, talented, and dynamic individual to serve as an Administrative Clerk in Orlando. This position will be primarily responsible for supporting the Vice President of Finance & Administration in their day-to-day functioning as well as supporting in the administrative projects.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Drafting letters and documents; collecting and analyzing information; initiating telecommunications.

  • Completes projects assigned by the Vice President of Finance & Administration; following up on results.

  • Ensures clear communication between the Executive and Finance & Administration Departments.

  • Helps Vice President of Finance & Administration on specific external Human Resources needs.

  • Other projects, as needed by the Executive Director and Vice President of Finance & Administration.

Key Qualifications

  • Commitment and passion for social, racial and gender justice;

  • Understanding of issues facing low income and minority communities;

  • 1-2 years of experience in an administrative clerk role;

  • Self-motivated - proven ability to work independently

  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience in Human Resources
